Regional Winners Announced for Lighting Hometown Heroes
PLSN is pleased to announce the Regional Winners of the Lighting Hometown Heroes. All six regional winners are now the finalists for the Parnelli Hometown Hero – Lighting Company of the Year Award. The six top regional lighting companies in North America—one for each of five U.S. regions, and a sixth for all of Canada were voted on by the industry as they narrowed the field from 36 to the six regional winners.
The six regional winners will appear on the Parnelli Awards ballot as finalist when the ballot goes live Oct. 28, 2024 for the 23rd Parnelli Awards voting. Bandit Lites is thrilled to share Bandit was named Concert Visuals Company of the Year at the 35th annual Pollstar Awards. This was Bandit’s 30th career win in 30 years as a lighting company across multiple honors. Hosted by comedian, actor and author Tom Papa, the Pollstar Awards took place at the historic Wiltern in Los Angeles on Feb. 8 and honored the most successful artists, executives, tours, venues, companies and more from the live industry in more than 40 categories. The event was produced by Ray Waddell and OVG.
With about six months to go, the 22nd Annual Parnelli Awards are on track to break several records – first and foremost, the number of companies stepping up to make the evening of the live event industry’s award show a success. “I’m humbled by not only the number of progressive companies sponsoring our industry award show this year, but who is stepping up,” says Parnelli Awards Co-Founder and Executive Producer Terry Lowe. “Not only is it wonderful to see so many who have supported continuously from the first shows like All Access Staging and Productions, Harman Professional, and Sound Image, but also great to welcome first-time sponsors joining us this year.” First time supporters of this year’s gala include Eagle Production Co., Eventric/Master Tour, and Spider Ranch Productions.
July 20, 2023 – The Broadway League and Buena Vista Theatrical d/b/a/ Disney Theatrical and the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees announced they have reached a tentative agreement for the “Pink Contract,” pending ratification by the bargaining unit. The respective parties will inform their members of the details of this agreement in the coming days.
