Since 1973 when then-governor Jimmy Carter noticed the state’s potential and created the Georgia Film, Music, and Digital Entertainment office, the area’s role in film and TV has grown exponentially. Even during the height of the pandemic, Georgia was home to 242 film productions adding an estimated $2.2 billion to the state’s economy.
