Alcorn McBride Supports Video Artist’s London Show

LONDON – Alcorn McBride’s A/V Binloop HD players and DVM8500 Digital Video Machines play an artful role in internationally-renowned video artist Bill Viola’s new show at the Blain|Southern Gallery in London. Associates in Media Engineering (AME), a consortium of consultants and a boutique provider of custom solutions for the special venue marketplace, chose the Alcorn McBride equipment for longtime customer Viola. The show, titled “Frustrated Actions and Futile Gestures,” is a museum-scale exhibition of nine new works comprised from more than 20 newly produced video elements and sound designs, says Benjamin Kidwell Lein of AME.

Alcorn McBride Aids Perot Museum’s ‘Shale Voyager’ Experience

DALLAS – In the new Perot Museum of Nature and Science in Dallas, the Tom Hunt Energy Hall’s 4D Theater experience, “Shale Voyager,” is controlled by Alcorn McBride’s V4 Pro show controller and 8-channel Digital Binloop HD player. Video and motion chairs give visitors the sense of what it would be like to shrink to the size of a grape, travel vertically down a 6,500-foot borehole, come out horizontally through the black rock of North Texas’s Barnett Shale and whoosh back to the surface when the gas is released.

CHATTANOOGA, TN – Alcorn McBride equipment helped entertainment production company Full Spectrum enhance the natural beauty of Ruby Falls, a 145-foot high underground waterfall within Lookout Mountain near Chattanooga, TN.  The Digital Audio Machine and Digital Video Machine HD were selected for playback to create a sound and light show deep below the surface of the earth.

Alcorn McBride Announces International Expansion

ORLANDO – Alcorn McBride, a manufacturer of AV system control, A/V and lighting equipment for themed entertainment, is preparing for growth in international markets. In the past year, Alcorn McBride has restructured distribution in Asia, and built up its Paris office. Alcorn McBride is in talks with several companies to distribute products in the remaining European markets and is now interviewing new companies at the ISE show in Amsterdam.
