DETROIT LAKES, MN – The annual three-day WE Fest country music festival roped in more than 48,000 music fans with a lineup ranging from Miranda Lambert, Willie Nelson and Lynyrd Skynard to Brad Paisley and Lost Highway. Upstage Video helped bring the artists closer to the fans with HD LED video screens from Daktronics.

The modular LED video screens included two 15-by-24-foot Daktronics PST-12HD displays hung on stage left and right. They were used for I-Mag, advertisements and event information throughout the festival.

“Everything went very smoothly and the set up was very easy,” said Doug Murray, president of Upstage Video. “We worked with the organizers prior to the event to create custom rigging for towers that were already on site — the product went right up and looked fantastic.”

Daktronics PST-12HD panels are designed for use with outdoor festivals and similar events, with a thin, lightweight design that eases setup and teardown. Bright output and a louver design also help the screens overcome harsh outdoor lighting conditions and provide wide viewing angles.

Next year will mark WE Fest’s 30th anniversary celebration and many upgrades are in the planning process for the event — including larger video screens.
