A typical spring season in New York City includes the biggest television networks holding their annual Upfronts, where billions of dollars worth of ad space are promised “up front.” From sizzle reels, performances, musical guests and star appearances, broadcast and cable networks make a huge effort to produce elaborate events to convince media buyers to support their series. AMC Networks Inc. held an Upfront on April 6th, 2017 at one of New York’s largest and most exclusive venues, Skylight Clarkson North. With more than 70,000 sq. ft. and 18 ft. ceilings, AMCN was able to accommodate over 500 marketers, advertisers and press for the presentation.
Upstage Video partnered with Empire Entertainment to provide multiple LED screens for the duration of the event. They were tasked with creating an environment of LED in and around the dining and cocktail areas. A 9’x16’ screen was used as a backdrop in the cocktail area, which showcased the networks’ series and doubled as a stage backdrop for AMCN’s President of Ad Sales, Scott Collins, opening remarks. Two 10’x65’ screens flanked the sit-down dining area, also showcasing the networks’ videos and series’ images. All screens were comprised of ROE’s Black Onyx, 3mm tiles, perfect for the guests’ close proximity to the screens.
