SINGAPORE – Singapore City Hall lit up with more than just 45 candles during the city's most recent birthday celebrations. For the Singapore National Day Parade (NDP), Glorious Pte Ltd provided video projections of Singapore's history, using the building as a canvas. The images were processed with four Hippotizer V3 HD machines and beamed on the building via Christie Roadster HD18K projectors. Green Hippo's Virtual Media Manager and UberPan software helped ensure seamless integration of the imagery, automatically compensating for blend overlaps. Virtual Media Manager did this by automatically "cutting" a single piece of ultra-high resolution content into three sections. The content was then distributed to three separate outputs, and reintegrated via UberPan for a seamless 90m x 11m display. The projection crew also made use of Hippotizer's keystone and 3-D warp functions, helping them match images to building features.
Christopher Ee, director of multimedia at Glorious Pte Ltd., credited the Hippotizers, which were provided by Broadcast Professional Ltd. of Singapore, as the "everything box," and also commended Broadcast Pro, Green Hippo and TMB for their tech support.
