More details from SESQUI (www.sesqui.ca):
SESQUI invites Canadians to experience art and innovation using cutting-edge technology. Réalisations provided support for the filming of HORIZON by designing, testing and constructing two separate camera rigs along with the help of fellow collaborators. The first rig holds five SLR Canon cameras which shoot time-lapse; the second rig holds 3 RED Dragon 6K video cameras. The rigs allow for a remarkably high quality of 360° film, which was used to shoot footage from ninety locations all over the country.
Réalisations also designed the auto calibration and playback systems which facilitate easy, standardized set-up and tear-down for on-site operators. The systems used are the outcome of two years’ worth of research and development to ensure that the film’s production and screening(s) are of the highest visual quality possible.
Réalisations was also implicated in the design phases of the mobile dome itself. Through exacting tests of various fabrics, and the construction of several dome prototypes Réalisations was able to design the optimal dome for the SESQUI 360 Cinematic Tour.
