Pete’s Big TVs Provides Video Production for Nickelodeon Upfront

NEW YORK – Pete’s Big TVs provided LED video tiles, playback, cameras, media servers, recording and crew for Nickelodeon’s Upfront, an event that previews the upcoming season for potential advertisers. The Feb. 25 event took place at Moynihan Station, formerly the historic James A. Farley Post office, in New York City.

Pete’s Big TVs provided its new digiLED MK7 LED video tiles to create a giant screen measuring 103 feet wide by 20 feet tall. “The MK7 LED tiles offer the same features and brightness of the MC7 at 5,000 nits, but the difference is the solid face of the tiles rather than a see-through screen,” said Pete’s Big TVs VP Guy Benjamin. “The pixel resolution is also optimized for broadcast purposes.”

The giant screen featured images and video clips related to Nickelodeon’s wide ranging markets, from children’s cartoon favorite SpongeBob SquarePants to teen-oriented games and original episodes of shows.

“We worked with scenic designer Andi Blady with Atomic Design, although the scenery was our gigantic video screen,” Benjamin said. “We also provided smaller screens in the party area after the main event.”

Pete's Big TVs provided the complete video production package for Nickelodeon's Upfront.The LED video screen was met with success, Benjamin said. “We’re happy to work with Nickelodeon. We’ve worked with them on other events, such as the recent 2014 HALO Awards, which honored teen achievements.”
