NEW YORK — NBC and the NFL Network kicked off the 93rd NFL football season in early September with televised performances by Maria Carey and No Doubt. Chaos Visual Productions provided an assist for the pregame show with a series of WinVision 8mm LED screens in various shapes and sizes around NBC’s home base in Rockefeller Center.
The lighting and production design by Doug “Spike” Brant called for ribbon screens around the stage, setback screens on the four-story-high roof at 30 Rockefeller Plaza and main screens just above the ice rink and on the onstage riser platform for the audience.
The production crew, including Touchdown Entertainment staging supervisor Tony Hauser and line producer Rob Paine along with members of IATSE Local 1, helped the Chaos team members tackle the pregame show’s logistical challenges.
From Chaos, project manager Barry Claxton worked on the event with LED techs Sean Harper, Sixx Williams, Stephan Hambsch, Thomas Corl and James DeStefano. Michael Goodwin served as project manager for Control Freak Systems.
