EDMONTON, Alberta, Canada – Apparently things aren’t only bigger in Texas. Some things are bigger in Edmonton, too. Recently, the FC Edmonton soccer club unveiled the largest mobile video display trailer in North America, dubbed TITAN. Mounted on a 53-foot trailer, the state-of-the-art LED screen, supplied by Daktronics (NASDAQ: DAKT), measures 39 feet wide by 22 feet high.

More details from GoVision (www.jumbo.tv):

TITAN is also equipped with a complete control room with full live production and broadcast capabilities.

Created by the Custom Design & Fabrication division of Argyle, TX-based GoVision LP, TITAN made its debut on Nov. 22 at Commonwealth Stadium for the CFL Western Conference Championship Game between the Calgary Stampeders and eventual Grey Cup Champion Edmonton Eskimos.

FC Edmonton, the professional soccer club that plays in the North American Soccer League (NASL), commissioned the giant rig along with M31 Design Group, both of which are divisions of The Fath Group, based in Edmonton. The club plans to use TITAN primarily as its end zone video board at home games played at Clarke Field, in lieu of a fixed video screen.

When not in use at the stadium, the trailer will be deployed at other sporting events in the Edmonton area (including Eskimos games) for promotional events and tailgate parties. TITAN will also be offered to FC Edmonton sponsors for use at their promotional events.

“We’re all about ‘going bigger’ at GoVision, so when FC Edmonton asked us to design and build this trailer, we knew it was going to be a fun project,” said Kevin Faciane, Partner and Vice President of Business Development at GoVision, a premier, full-service provider of large-scale LED video displays and related services, including production, creative content, custom design, fabrication and installation. “This is exactly the kind of work our Custom Design and Fabrication team specializes in, so we’re excited to lay claim to yet another ‘largest in North America’ title.”

Faciane explained that the TITAN project gave his team another opportunity to showcase its upgraded technical skills while bringing a highly elaborate engineering vision to fruition. “This was a fairly complex mobile video display design, involving a great deal of planning, intricate drawings and specially manufactured brackets, all made possible by the ingenuity and flexibility of our best-in-class design and fabrication team,” said Faciane.
