PITTSBURGH — NEP’s Screenworks teamed with its sister company, NEP’s Denali group, to capture George Strait’s farewell concert, the last stop on his final tour, George Strait: The Cowboy Rides Away. The two NEP companies captured the live event on June 7 with 22 Sony cameras and 42 Ki Pro recorders. That show drew 104,000 to the home stadium of the Dallas Cowboys in Arlington, TX, and the recordings from Screenworks and Denali formed the basis for a two-hour concert special that premiered Aug. 29 on CMT.
More details from NEP’s Screenworks (www.screenworksnep.com):
The concert was produced and directed by Screenworks President, Danny O’Bryen, with Screenworks’ sister company, NEP’s Denali group, providing production facilities, equipment and technical support.
The concert set an indoor attendance record with 104,000 people. The show was produced and recorded from Denali’s mobile production truck, Cobalt, and utilized 22 Sony cameras and 42 Ki Pro recorders, to capture all of the action on stage.
“This was a great opportunity for us – it allowed us to combine Screenworks’ experience supporting live concert events with Denali’s expertise in major, live, multi-camera entertainment events.” said Screenworks President Danny O’Bryen. “It was truly an honor to be part of such a historic event for such a legendary musician.”
This event was George Strait’s final concert, shot exclusively to air on the CMT network. The concert included guest performances by Jason Alden, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Sheryl Crow, Vince Gill, Faith Hill, Alan Jackson, Miranda Lambert, and Martina McBride.
