BEIJING, China – Kingsmark Event Engineering Co., Ltd. and China Television Technology Development Company worked with Barco Greater China to light up the broadcast for Chinese Central Television's annual New Years Gala 2010 with a large LED backdrop. Measuring 18 by 9 meters, the backdrop had a physical resolution of 2952 x 1440 pixels. In all, 820 Barco ILite 6BK tiles were used. The production also used four Barco FLM HD20 HD projectors, with Barco's Encore System used for processing images to transport the audiences – live, via TV and via Internet – into a variety of different visual settings. Total viewership estimates ranged as high as 700 million.
