LOS ANGELES — Chaos Visual Productions provided video support for the North American leg of Josh Groban’s 2011 Straight to You Tour in the form of four double stacks of 20K projectors projecting seamless, edge-blended imagery onto an 80-by-30-foot screen. The North American tour, with dates in North America from May 12 to Labor Day, will resume in October after making several stops in Europe. Peter Mensch, Cliff Burnstein and Tony Dicioccio of Q Prime-NYC are the tour managers.

Timothy Bird, David Farley and Knifedge productions collaborated on the visual design, and Knifedge’s Tom Paris and Seb Howling served as scenic design assistants. Knifedge’s visual engineering and content production team consisted of project managers Jonathan Brigden, Caroline Gerrard, Lucy Ross and Lucy Ockenden; visual engineers Sam Hopkins and Lucy Ockenden; programmer Sam Hopkins; and animators Louise Rhoades-Brown, John Keates, Tom Munday, James Coore, Anthony Fristot, Letty Fox, Nina Dunn and Tom Hadley.

The production is currently being managed by Rodney Johnson, led by tour manager Dennis Brennan, and directed by John Broderick. Chaos’ video crew includes crew chief Steven Burkeholder and projectionist/Catalyst operator Chris Small.
