LONDON – Projection mapping and video content specialists Bluman Associates projected the Palestine flag onto the Houses of Parliament in the early hours of August 1, 2014 to raise awareness of The Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC). Bluman worked with the organization to implement the unauthorized projection, which calls for an end to the bloodshed in Gaza, and for sanctions against Israel.
Public reaction to the projection was sharply divided among U.K. residents with pro-Israel and pro-Palestinian sentiments. Although the stunt was unauthorized, Bluman Associates did not hesitate to detail how the company helped make the projection happen.

The team, led by Pod Bluman, were in situ on Westminster Bridge for just four minutes; just long enough to ensure the PSC’s photographer could grab the all-important image, which is now making waves on social media and in the national press.
Detailed planning and previous experience in the location – including the Public and Commercial Services Union’s March Against Austerity last year – ensured the risky act went without a hitch.
“We had just one week’s notice from the PSC about the campaign and what they wanted to achieve, so it required a very quick turnaround,” said Pod Bluman in a press statement.
“We knew we had just a few minutes for the photographer to get the image they required so in order to make the timeframe we projected from a vehicle and had everything set up ready to go when we arrived on site, with the generator already running.
“We’re very well known in the NGO and political community and network which is why the PSC approached us. They knew we had the prior experience and knowledge to accurately plan the projection and carry it out quickly so that it could maintain the surprise nature needed to capture attention on social media.”
Asked about any legal issues, Bluman inferred that the primary onus might be on the client, not the hired projection firm. “We have been asked about the legalities of the projection, and always advise clients that they need to acquire the relevant permits for any buildings they intend to use in their campaigns,” he noted.
