Active came from humble beginnings. “I could not have imagined that we would be the industry leader in Audio Visual as we are today when I started the business out of the back of my jeep 20 years ago,” Clouser says. “I am always thinking of the great clients and employees that have helped to make my little dream the huge success it is today.”
Active Production and Design attributes its growth to several key principles including honesty, ethics, hard work, dedication and making sure that the customer is always 100-percent satisfied. Staying on top of industry trends, equipment and being involved in industry associations has also played a large role in Active’s success.
There were several pivotal points in the company’s history that were game-changing moments of importance, Clouser says. “Starting the business in 1993 despite the opposition of my family was the first big leap of faith. When we purchased our first moving lights and partnered with High End, this step really brought us a lot of new business.
“The next opportunity came with the 1996 Olympics and acquiring several large jobs during this time. Changing the company’s direction to full production, offering all aspects of Audio Visual to our clients and introducing Audio to our inventory took us to the forefront of the Atlanta AV market.
“The employees and partners really created a new level for Active when John Fox and Steve Zaug joined the team,” Clouser continues. “Video equipment inventory was the natural growth step for us to complete our full service inventory.
“Pioneering into Digital Lighting was another big step for us. This allowed us to be on the cutting edge of technology as we become known for. Then when we were awarded the AV contract with The Georgia Aquarium we solidified our place as the industry leader in Atlanta.
“Adding our Creative Services Division again launched us ahead of the rest in the AV market. Being able to offer these services to our clients established our position as a true production partner,” Clouser says. “Our LED wall technology and having the largest LED wall in Georgia proved that were and always will be the leader in AV technologies in Atlanta.
“Now today we celebrate our 20th Anniversary, and are honored and humbled by the gracious support of our great employees and clients for helping to create our company. This is not a one-man operation and I could have not done it without all of our great employees and clients past and present. Thank you for allowing my dream to be realized!”
