PLS Frankfurt 2015 – Show Summary: The future of laser control is here

The 2015 Prolight+Sound Frankfurt exhibition was an incredible success, and we would like to begin by thanking all of our worldwide partners for their continued support of Pangolin over the years. What made this particular event so special, was that we officially announced the release of FB4, Pangolin’s new laser control platform, set to take the laser and lighting industry to the next level.

What is FB4?

FB4 is a new laser control platform from Pangolin, that works with both our QuickShow and BEYOND software programs. FB4 is an OEM hardware device, designed to be incorporated into a laser projector. FB4 may also be placed into a custom enclosure, to work as a standalone unit. In time, we also have plans to release a dedicated network-to-ILDA interface, similar to the FB3QS, but using a network connection instead.

FB4 “Standard” (shown above) includes the hardware’s main board with a full color OLED display, proprietary network control port, and on-board SD card memory (for up to 64GB worth of data). FB4’s OLED display also features a ?variety of tools that help make setting up and controlling a laser show easier than ever before. These include settings for safety, colors, geometric correction, system settings, size, position, rotation, and more.

FB4 – A customizable solution

The FB4’s Standard’s main board can also be configured with additional DMX and ILDA (in and through) daughterboards, for a more customized control solution. This allows you to purchase FB4 in a variety of ways, so that you can customize the hardware to meet your exact show requirements.

FB4 (DMX)

This version includes the FB4 main board, OLED display, network port, SD card memory, and the DMX daughterboard

FB4 (ILDA)

This version includes the FB4 main board, OLED display, network port, SD card memory, and the ILDA daughterboard.

FB4 (MAX)

This version includes the FB4 main board, OLED display, network port, SD card memory, and DMX and ILDA-daughterboards.

How to use and control FB4

The versatile FB4 platform is compatible with all major protocols, including ILDA, DMX, ArtNet, and OSC. FB4 can be controlled directly from a PC, using Pangolin’s QuickShow or BEYOND software. But you can also create content in QuickShow or BEYOND, and then load this onto FB4 on-board SD card memory, giving you the ability to control the content remotely using a lighting console or DMX control board. FB4 also runs in “auto-mode” so that you can load content onto the SD card, and then trigger this right from the hardware’s OLED display, without the need for a PC or console.

How to purchase FB4

Demo of FB4FB4 can be purchased with either the QuickShow or BEYOND software, in the following configurations (noted below).

The price of the system depends on what software you package with it.
