ORB XF Console from Cooper Controls

The ORB XF has been designed to bring hands-on lighting control to the Cooper Controls' ORB platform. ORB XF adds fader control for intensity channels and live submaster playback, and combines theatrical syntax with an interactive hardware platform to control generic dimmers and moving lights. In addition to the known ORB platform, ORB XF features 60 multipurpose faders, which can be used as either channel controls (pageable across users' entire patch), submasters (pageable across 20 pages), or playbacks (the bottom 20 faders only).  A dual color LED flash button under the fader indicates the current function of each fader.

Operating on the ZerOS software platform, ORB XF lets users make quick adjustments to cues, supports advanced tracking functionality and enables the creation of complex effects. For theatrical playback, there are 1,000 cue stacks of 1,000 cues, addressable through the two playback masters.

ORB XF gives users the flexibility of customizing displays and default settings, and show files can be cross-loaded between all ZerOS consoles and imported from the original Frog range and ASCII show files.  The console also supports fixture swapout to any of the internal fixture library of 2000 fixtures and external touchscreen support.

Industry standard Ethernet protocols and 5 pin XLR connectors add flexibility in DMX output options, while Ethernet support for visualizers and mobile device applications (Windows Mobile & iPhone) add interconnectivity options.

By adding a suitable Wireless Access Point and a mobile device, the desk can support a wireless remote control for channel and syntax control. A free offline editor (Phantom ZerOS) is also available from the Zero 88 website.
