Martin Professional’s P3-100 System Controller for LED screens lets designers treat LED screens like lighting instruments. Brightness, image position, image rotation, etc. can be adjusted and changed instantly, independently from the video source. The P3-100 is not a media server but an interface between the source and the screen. The P3-100 is designed to make setting up an LED screen straightforward and intuitive. It contains a built-in graphical user interface with real time visualization of the video mapping and also includes built-in scaling and de-interlacing. The integrated scaler adjusts images to fit the LED screen in real time while the de-interlacer enables regular video signals to be connected directly to the P3-100.
With the P3-100 Martin introduces P3 technology, designed to bring the plug and play nature of DMX to the world of video. Based on Gigabit Ethernet and Cat5e wiring, the P3 technology removes the limitations of video-type protocols for easy connectivity and speed of set-up. It enables bi-directional communication with the LED screen, creating a network that increases the speed of setup and mapping. Splitting the signal can be done with standard off the shelf Gigabit Ethernet switches. Built in test patterns can be used to check the screen before use. All LED panels communicates with the P3-100 to report any problems and all settings can be conveniently stored on a USB stick.
The P3 technology supports 500,000 pixels over single Cat5e link with 48 bit data updated up to 75 times per second, HD broadcast quality transmission. The P3 also supports multiple video protocols and resolutions including DVI (currently up to SXGA@75Hz) and analog video signals (CVBS, S-Video & Component), eliminating the need for an external processor.
