ETC (Electronic Theatre Controls, Inc.) has unveiled a line of motorized hoists and hoist-control systems for theatrical and architectural use called ETC Rigging. Its first offerings are the fixed-speed ETC Prodigy hoist systems and ETC QuickTouch controls. Features include a smaller power head that retracts into 30 inches of plenum space, a cable management system and a compression tube backbone that imposes no additional lateral-load stress on buildings. Prodigy hoists come in a range of models with different travel distances, batten lengths and circuits. All models have fixed speed averaging 30 feet per minute, optional handheld remote control and multiple E-stop buttons.
