LONDON – d3 Technologies will introduce its 2x2plus media server as part of their brand new plus range product range at InfoComm 2015, June 13-19, in the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. The company will also show their existing pro range of media servers, the 4x4pro and 4x2pro, in booth #5890.
More details from d3 Technologies (www.d3technologies.com):
The new 2x2plus is designed for small events, theater productions, fixed and architectural installations where fewer outputs are needed but the full power, flexibility and performance of d3 are absolute requirements. Although it does not include the pro range features required for massive shows, the 2x2plus is a powerful machine that comes with the same award-winning suite of d3 software pre-installed.
The 2x2plus plays back up to 8 layers of HD video (DXV or HAP codecs) or up to 2 layers of uncompressed HD video (QT Animation codec) with canvas sizes up to 16K pixels. It can simultaneously run up to 256 Universes of Art-Net and KiNet, receive motion control information, and map content in real time.
The new media server can Push Every Pixel™ of its two 2560×1600 outputs; an extra output is reserved for the GUI. Push Every Pixel is d3’s benchmark for the playback power needed by video professionals everywhere. It means that a machine should have enough power to fill every physical pixel of its outputs with 2 simultaneous layers of content.
The 2x2plus is available as a base unit. Factory-fitted options include 3G-SDI, DVI capture and Pro-Audio.
Also on display in the d3 booth will be the 4x4pro, the flagship of the pro range of media servers with enough power to Push Every Pixel over 4 4K or 16 HD outputs. The 4x4pro makes big shows easy: one rugged unit can replace four conventional media servers with four outputs each. That means less cost, complexity, set up time and rack space and more control whether users are in a theater, arena or stadium.
The d3 4x4pro can play up to 32 layers of DXV/HAP content, split up as desired, with canvas sizes up to 16K pixels across. It also supports the high-fidelity HAP-Q codec and can play up to 8 HD layers of lossless QT Animation.
The unit accepts 4 channels of HD-SDI or 2 channels of 3G-SDI with just 50 msec latency. Twin 10Gbit/sec Ethernet connections enable users to transfer huge files in minutes rather than hours.
To futureproof the 4x4pro as the industry moves from HD signal flows to 4K, the media server is designed to accept the user-replaceable Video Format Conversion (VFC) output card. An industry first, VFC cards have been developed by d3 Technologies and will be released as new signal standards gain popularity. Users will simply slot in the appropriate card to meet their show needs. The first available VFC card is Quad DVI, providing 16 outputs from one 4x4pro system; with DisplayPort 1.2 being the standard signal the 4x4pro is shipped with.
Additionally, d3 will show the 4x2pro, a reliable, robust 4U system ideal for concert tours, theater and mid-sized projection events. The 4x2pro updates the popular d3 4U v2.5 with the same custom case, low-latency video capture, genlock and lockable connectors as the 4x4pro.
Featuring 4 2K outputs, the 4x2pro can Push Every Pixel, playing up to 16 layers of HD video (DXV/HAP codecs) and up to 4 layers of uncompressed HD video.
