Chauvet's Q-Spot 160-LED, a moving yoke fixture equipped with a 20-watt white LED that promises output comparable to a 150-watt fixture, is now shipping. Chauvet says the fixture, which replaces the Q-Spot 150-LED, is 46 percent brighter, with a lux measurement of 7,641 at one meter. The Q-Spot 160-LED is well-suited for small club installations, particularly those with low ceilings, where heat emissions are a concern. The fixture, which weighs 14 pounds, also promises a long-lived light source, meaning less need to climb ladders for lamp changes, and benefits in terms of energy efficiency as well.
The Q-Spot 160-LED comes with a color wheel with nine slots plus white, a rotating gobo wheel with seven slot-n-lock gobos plus open, and an easy-access hatch for tool-free gobo changes.
It also has 9- or 12-channels of DMX control, a three-facet prism and automatic pan/tilt correction. The Q-Spot 160-LED also comes pre-programmed with built-in automated and sound-activated programs for a professional show without the work.
