The new Rack-Split RDM RJ45 from Artistic Licence is a one-to-nine-universe DMX512 splitter with RJ45 Ethercon connectors rather than XLR connectors.
It has an isolated input and supports RDM and High End Systems Talkback protocol in a 1RU 19-inch rack mount casing. It uses shielded CAT5 cable for DMX512 distribution, requires no soldering, retains the strength and locking mechanism of XLR connectors but uses RJ45 connectors. All data connections are mounted on the front panel while the rear panel provides two M4 safety chain points. A “safe” output provides DMX512/1990 output with zero start code data, allowing legacy equipment compatibility.
