The Mega Bar 50 RGB from American DJ, designed for smaller venues and spaces, is a DMX-compatible indoor RGB mixing bar that measures 1.5 feet in length, less than half the size of the original 1-meter Mega Bar, and less than half the price. Equipped with 126 10mm LEDs (42 red, 42 green and 42 blue), the Mega Bar 50 RGB offers the same lamp density as its larger cousin, and can be used with a DMX controller.
There are seven DMX channel modes and six stand-alone operating modes. Color Mode lets users choose among 32 different colors to remain static. In Color Change Mode or Color Fade Mode, the fixture will scroll through, or fade in an out of, the colors specified by users. The unit will run through both color change and color fade programs in Auto Mode. An RGB Mode that lets users create their own colors by adjusting RGB intensity. Sound Active Mode that triggers the fixture to chase to the beat of the music. Multiple Mega Bar 50 RGB units also can be linked together via 3-pin XLR for an expandable color wash effect.
The LEDs, rated at 100,000 hours, draw just 18W at full use. The fixture features a 30-degree beam angle and a four-button LED display on the rear panel to navigate through menu options. Mounting brackets are included. The fixture weighs three pounds and measures 22 inches by 2.5 inches by 4 inches in size. It features multi-voltage operation: 90-240V, 50/0Hz. The MSRP is $259.95.
