Alford Media Services, Inc.'s Widescreen Calculator iPhone app, which is like having a portable version of Alford Video Engineer or Projectionist, is designed to help with calculations for overlapping widescreen projections. Users can enter the size of a screen and the resolution of a projector, and the app will generate the Projected Ratio, Total Horizontal Pixels, Total Vertical Pixels, Number of Projectors, Overlap, and Projected Width per Projector in feet. With those numbers, users can click on the Aim Points button to see a graphic representation of how their screens and projectors will line up and overlap.
Users can save the calculations directly to their iPhone Camera Rolls as a screenshot from both the Results page and the Aim Points page. The images can be kept for future reference or sent them to colleagues via e-mail or SMS.
