VERONA, Italy — The arch-and-star sculpture that seems to streak from Verona Arena to Piazza Bra here got extra visual impact this holiday season with an installation of LED light fixtures from Slovakia-based Leader Light.
More details from Leader Light (www.leaderlight.sk):
Leader light´s LED lighting was used at the 30th International Exhibition of Nativity in Art and Culture, which takes place inside the arches of the Arena di Verona. The show started Nov. 30 and will finish Jan. 26.
To light the sculpture, Leader Light and its Italy-based distributor, Area Italia, provided 10 LL Sport 150W 5000K Lens 40° for the star cluster sculpture and 4 LL Sport 150W 5000K Lens 30° for the comet’s arc.
The arc of the comet fades with the different luminance levels to simulate motion, and the 5000 K color temperature adds a glowing effect to the star cluster portion.
Leader Light’s energy-efficient luminaries are expected to allow for a 55 percent reduction in total energy consumption required to light the comet sculpture, which was previously lit with 400W discharge lamp fixtures.
