MACAU, China – Pacific Lighting (HK) Ltd., Robert Juliat’s distributor for Hong Kong and Macau, has supplied three additional RJ Lancelot 4000W HTI followspots to the 15,000-seat Cotai Arena in Macau. On Macau’s Cotai Strip, the Cotai Arena is part of The Venetian Macao Resort Hotel. The new RJ Lancelots will augment the venue’s existing lighting inventory which already boasts four of these long throw followspots.
More details from Robert Juliat (www.robertjuliat.com):
The RJ Lancelots have been put to good use over the years in this popular and busy venue. Since it opened in 2007, the Cotai Arena at The Venetian Macao has played host to large-scale concerts from Lady Gaga and Celine Dion, with Rihanna and Justin Bieber due to play this autumn, sporting events and international televised award shows such as the Asian Indoor games and the Mnet Asian Music Awards are also hosted regularly. Power, easy-operation and reliability are therefore essential in the followspots that perform here.
“Lighting rigs are becoming bigger and brighter with a lot of moving lights so, when we decided we needed to increase our number of followspots, coming back to the Robert Juliat Lancelot was an easy choice,” says Nuno Lopes, assistant vice president of Entertainment, Venetian Macau Ltd. “The Lancelots are ideal for covering the long throw distances in the arena, cutting through the high light levels of the spectacular shows we host to focus attention on the stars that play here. They are also flicker-free, reliable and extremely flat-beamed which is so essential for the televised broadcasts.”
Lancelot is also a modular long throw (2°-5°) effects projector offering options of a rotating gobo changer, animation wheel and full color mixing using gel filters.
“Lancelot is an obvious choice for the Cotai Arena where the variety of events calls for uncompromising intensity and reliability,” says Pacific Lighting Director, Hugh Chinnick. “We are always delighted when a customer returns to us for more as there is no better confirmation that we, and Robert Juliat, are providing them with the right equipment for their needs.”
