TRINIDAD and TOBAGO — PR Lighting fixtures supplied by the company’s distributors, All Events Lighting Systems, were used to light two major festivals here, “The Festival — Night of the Stars” and “Arabian Nights.” All Events Lighting Systems has been working with the promoters of The Festival for the past three years, but this year the visual concept changed along with the name of the event.
“The promoters wanted a new look to coincide with the change of concept and knew that lighting would was the answer,” said All Event Lighting Systems LD and owner Shival Maharaj. “They asked us to prepare a lighting design and offered us the job on the strength of this. We are now the official lighting provider for this event.”
For the show, Shival used PR Lighting’s Pilot 575 Spot and Pilot 575 Wash moving heads, along with Century Color 2500L washlights, often used with architectural projects, and also the company’s Marveon LED washes as the major lighting effects.
“We ran two Century Washes up front for crowd lighting and color changing,” he said. “The 20 LEDs were fixed along the middle and back of the rig for effect purposes and stage color setting. The 22 moving heads were strategically positioned at various points for maximum output.”
The event, which took place at Skinner Park in Trinidad’s second largest city of San Fernando, was attended by at least 12,000 people. At the same time some 1,500 attended the much smaller Arabian Nights, which was being held for the first time in Pier 1 to the west of the island, and featured a scaled-down version of the PR Lighting grid.
