LONDON — Matthew Griffiths, CEO of PLASA for 17 years, announced plans to step down Oct. 31, according to a letter written by John Simpson, White Light founder and chair of PLASA’s governing body, and distributed to PLASA members Aug. 21.

“Matthew Griffiths has decided that now is the right time to step aside which would help kick start and facilitate a fresh set of ideas and approaches needed for the next chapter in PLASA’s development,” Simpson noted.

“The time is right to step aside and I will be working closely with the PLASA governing body during this transitional period to assist in every way possible,” Griffiths added.

Simpson, who is acting chairman of the governing body following the resignation of Steve Terry, of ETC, credited Griffiths for his “commitment to the industry and to the members of PLASA” and noted that his “passion, good humor, and acumen will be missed. We wish him well in his new future.”
