LILLE, France — You can be in need of a good pair of glasses and still find your way to Krys Opticals in Wattrellos, an upscale suburb of Lille, thanks to an installation of Anolis LEDs designed and supplied by Anolis’ French distributor, Ambiance Lumière. Store manager Stephane Quartana wanted to extend the distinctive look of the shop’s interior with an exterior that stood out from the crowd as well for the retail chain, the third largest optical retailer in France. Ambiance helped transform the exterior with bright but energy-efficient LED gear from Anolis, leading to more visual impact and store customers.
“It was a great opportunity for us to demonstrate the huge potential of retail applications,” said Ambiance’s Patrice Vandenbussche. The design uses IP65-rated Anolis Arcline Outdoor Optic 36 fixtures for one side of the building, which is adjacent to a parking lot. The installation includes four 1.2-meter-long sections for uplighting, with a row of 0.6-meter-long sections installed just under the roof recess for down-lighting.
Along the street side of the store, illuminating the top half of the building are six Anolis ArcSource Outdoor 12 RGB fixtures, which illuminate sections of the building between the windows.
The standard color is Krys’ corporate blue, however other variations are also possible via a series of looks and sequences that have been pre-programmed into the Sunlight ESA controller located inside the shop.
Anolis is an architectural division of Robe.
