UTRECHT, Netherlands – Netherlands equipment rental company Ampco Flashlight Rental has made a major investment in Robe’s new multipurpose moving light fixture, the Pointe. The company ordered 100 Pointes because of the current demands of the rental market and its increasing popularity on equipment riders.
More details from Robe (www.robe.cz):
Marco de Koff, Ampco Flashlight’s operations manager, says they were impressed by the Pointe’s functionality and its design. “LDs love them,” he adds, so having them in their in rental stock puts them “in the front seat.”
The first batch of 60 Pointes was delivered to the Utrecht-based company, one of the largest privately owned rental facilities in Europe, by Robe’s Benelux distributor Controllux.
It is the first Robe investment by Ampco Flashlight Rental, which also is currently cross-hiring Robe LEDWash 300s on various projects.
“We have known about Robe for a long time,” says de Koff, “and have seen them establish themselves as a force to be reckoned with. Particularly in the last three years, they have come up with some really exciting and innovative products.”
Ampco Flashlight Rental works in all sectors of the entertainment industry supplying lighting, sound, video and motion control equipment. The rental department has an industry pedigree stretching back more than 30 years, with more than 150 full time employees (80 of whom are technicians) in the Utrecht headquarters.
The new Pointes are going into immediate service on the Lowlands, Mysteryland and Uitmarkt festivals.
