NEW WINDSOR, NY — Production Resource Group, LLC, (PRG) announced that it is acquiring Essential Lighting Group from the Staging Connections Group in the U.K. The transaction is expected to close by the end of October. “We are very excited about the acquisition of Essential Lighting which underscores our commitment to a specialist brand strategy in the U.K.,” said Jere Harris, PRG’s chairman and CEO. “The EL business has been driven by an engaged and committed leadership team that will strengthen the management of our UK businesses.”

Essential Lighting will continue as an independent brand, focused on the markets that it serves. The company is active in the live event business, with projects including the BBC’s Proms in the Park, product launches for Ford, Toyota, and BMW, London Fashion Week and political conferences.
Essential Lighting will report to PRG headquarters in the U.S. The existing PRG lighting business in the UK will remain a separate specialist brand, focusing on the markets and customers it has traditionally served.
