CHESTER, PA — Panasonic Systems Solutions Company has been named the “official technology partner,” for an 18,500-seat major league soccer stadium and Delaware River waterfront complex set to open in this Philadelphia suburb in 2010. The company will supply the complex’s large screen displays, digital signage, broadcast and TV production systems, security/surveillance systems and point-of-sale systems. As the large screen/digital signage provider, Panasonic is slated to supply its LED large screen boards visible from a wide angle in direct sunlight and a variety of other display systems, including plasmas, LCDs and large screen boards. The Panasonic unit’s partnership is with Keystone Sports and Entertainment, LLC, which has rights to major league soccer in the Philadelphia area.

“This partnership will extend throughout the entire waterfront redevelopment project,”
said Nick Sakiewicz, CEO and operating partner of Keystone Sports and Entertainment.

Panasonic recently kicked off its “Panasonic Powered Properties” with LA Live. For more on that program, click here.

An area within the Pennsylvania soccer complex called “The Panasonic Experience” will also highlight the company’s products that are available for home and business use.

“We are very excited to join with Keystone Sports and Entertainment, Major League Soccer and the city of Chester to build a state of the art stadium and mixed-use waterfront development that delivers a world-class technology experience,” said J.M. Allain, president of Panasonic System Solutions Company. “Panasonic is in a unique position to provide such a broad and comprehensive range of integrated systems.”

The Chester sports complex will be constructed at the foot of the Commodore Barry Bridge, 13 miles from downtown Philadelphia. The stadium will feature an 11,000-square-foot club, 30 suites, a built-in concert stage for live music, and a 2,000 seat zone for the Sons of Ben supporters club.

The new stadium is the centerpiece of a $500 million entertainment, retail, residential and commercial development covering more than 100 acres along the Delaware River waterfront.
