Miami Dolphins Show Their Holiday Colors

MIAMI — Lighting the exterior of a stadium and a row of palm trees aqua and orange to convey a holiday message may seem a little twisted at first, but it’s certainly no stranger than the image of a dolphin wearing a football helmet. Give it a little time, and it won’t seem strange at all. Chauvet helped the Miami Dolphins’ production department when they wanted to create a holiday video for fans attending the team’s last home game with the San Francisco 49ers on Dec. 14.

Chauvet’s staff placed lights and helped program and videotape the greeting that involved a total of 54 LED fixtures loaned to the NFL team. The glassy exterior of Dolphin Stadium and surrounding palm trees were bathed in the team’s orange and aqua colors.

More than 74,000 fans got the chance to watch the holiday greeting, which paired the changing colors of LD Joe Paradise’s lighting design to “Winter Wizard” by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra three times during the game.
