NEW YORK — As award ceremonies go, the Golden Goggle Awards may not have the visibility of, say, the Oscars. But that didn’t keep Dodd Technologies, Inc. (DTI) from helping USA Swimming keep a clear, sharp view on the top swimming talent in the country. For the third consecutive year, DTI helped support the awards program with production services that included multi-screen projection, IMAG, graphics, lighting, audio, staging, scenic, production management, and tech support services. The 2008 event, staged at the New York Hilton, celebrated the accomplishments of USA Swimming at the Beijing Olympics, and incorporated imagery from the Beijing National Aquatics Center, nicknamed the Water Cube.
“This is a favorite event and client of ours,” said Mark Dodd, president and owner of Dodd Technologies. “Assistant executive director of USA Swimming, Mike Unger, and his team do a tremendous job of putting together the evening. And being a production partner for USA Swimming means a lot to our DTI team.”
Bob Costas served as master of ceremonies and celebrity presenters included Donald Trump, former New York Giants running back Tiki Barber, magician David Blaine and actors Richard Kind, Heather Matarazzo, Ana Ortiz and Leven Rambin of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
The 2008 Golden Goggle Athletes of the Year? Natalie Coughlin, the first American female athlete in modern history to win six medals in one Olympics, and someone else who did pretty well in Beijing, too — Michael Phelps.
