GLENDALE, AZ — Regarding Tina Turner’s 2008 North American tour, LD Baz Halpin noted that the show is “at times a full-on rock concert to rival AC/DC, and at other times a heavy production show similar to that of any major pop performer.” LEDs, including Coemar Infinity Wash XL lights, are helping the age-defying vocalist glisten and glow. Halpin needed a fixture that could cover subtle theatrical lighting with soft pastels and good intensity in dark saturated colors from a distance. “I knew from my experiences, lighting the Queen and Cher shows, that the 80 Infinitys we were set to use would be able to handle all my needs,” he said. Halpin is using the fixtures as key, side and backlights in various situations.
The instrument’s roster of features includes a proportional zoom from 5 to 84, a 360-degree indexable beam shape, five colors + white on the color wheel and proportional CTO filter. “They have always been quick enough, bright enough and reliable enough for everything I’ve wanted to do,” he said. “I really like them a lot.”
