NEW YORK — The IATSE has negotiated an agreement on behalf of backstage workers traveling with touring productions produced by NETworks, LLC. The collective bargaining agreement applies to five shows currently touring through the U.S. and Canada for their 2009/2010 seasons. Those five shows are: Sweeney Todd, The Drowsy Chaperone, Hairspray, The Wizard of Oz and Annie. The agreement also applies to seven forthcoming NETworks productions.
“This agreement will provide meaningful benefits to NETworks’ crews,” said Matthew Loeb, IATSE International president. “It also secures this work under IATSE jurisdiction and expands our presence in the one-night and split-week touring markets and, as such, was a major organizing priority for us.”
“I applaud President Loeb and his team for understanding and recognizing the current economics of touring in the one-night and split-week markets,” said producer Kenneth Gentry, co-founder of NETworks. “We look forward to a long and fruitful relationship.”
