HARMAN Professional Solutions, a global leader in audio, video, lighting, and control systems, including networked AV, recently announced the promotion of Michael Schoen to Vice President and General Manager, North America Sales, following the retirement of Roland Rice.
Michael Schoen, who previously served as Senior Director of Pro AV Sales for North America for HARMAN Professional Solutions, brings more than three decades of experience in sales and marketing to his new role. In his previous position at HARMAN, Schoen led a team of 40 employees and more than 100 independent sales representatives, playing a pivotal role in overseeing sales growth across HARMAN Professional’s eight brands.
Schoen’s extensive career includes senior positions at AKAI USA, HomeBase, and Wal-Mart Stores Inc. At AKAI USA, he successfully built the LCD television business from the ground up to more than $300 million. At HomeBase, he led a corporate office replenishment team, and at Wal-Mart, he grew a business unit to $500 million and was recognized as “Buyer of the Year.”
“Mike Schoen’s ascension to this critical leadership role is ideal because he not only provides important continuity to our sales channel, but his enthusiasm and creativity will bring new opportunities for us in the future,” said Jaime Albors, Senior Vice President Global Sales and Business Development, HARMAN Professional Solutions. “Mike’s extensive experience and proven track record in driving sales growth and building successful teams here at HARMAN will be invaluable as we continue to build on our successes and strive for new achievements in the coming years. Also, Mike’s cultural leadership at our Northridge campus is unmatched as he is heavily involved in HARMAN’s employee resource groups that helps foster community, inclusion and diversity in the company.
“I also want to acknowledge Roland Rice, who successfully led the strategic business unit through growth and transformation for the past five years. We wish Roland well in his retirement and thank him for his significant contributions,” said Albors.
“This promotion is an incredible opportunity to continue working with a team known for its excellence and innovation,” said Schoen. “I look forward to leading the North American sales efforts and working closely with the HARMAN team to provide our customers with the best solutions and experiences. I have benefitted from Roland’s mentorship and expertise, which has greatly contributed to my professional growth and positioned me well to take over after his retirement.”
