MIAMI – From the Mega Arch to the Megastructure, two Eurolite products helped set the stage at this year’s Ultra Music Festival: the Eurolite STP-10 and the 2x100W COB Blinder.
Taking the starring role, Eurolite’s STP-10s were used on three stages: the Live Stage, the AG Mega Arch and the Carl Cox Stage (aka “the Megastructure”). Consisting of a strip of MR-16 lamps, the incandescent STP-10s are often paired with LED fixtures, with results that can be striking. They were deployed in exactly this way across the entire Mega Arch, and could also be seen outlining the video wall directly behind the featured DJs.
Making its debut on the EDM festival scene, the 2x100W COB Blinder was used extensively in the Megastructure, and definitely turned some heads. Unlike traditional blinders, the 200 watt COB Blinder doesn’t require the use of a dimmer rack. This saves on labor, cabling and equipment, and offers a new level of flexibility, making them a rising favorite for LDs.
Paradigm supplied all gear on the Live Stage, while AG Light & Sound provided gear for the Mega Arch and Megastructure. Lighting design for all three stages was handled by Steve Lieberman of SJ Lighting.
