ESTA, USITT Gearing Up for Training Sessions

LARGO, MD — The ESTA Foundation and USITT are making final preparations for Vectorworks Spotlight, theatrical rigging and electrical training sessions to be held at Prince George’s Community College over a six-day span from Jan. 26 through Jan. 31, 2009. The training event will be hosted and co-produced by that school and by IATSE Local 22.

Frank Brault, the director of training and technical support at Nemetschek North America (NNA), will teach the Vectorworks Spotlight courses. David Boevers, ETCP certified rigger and ETCP recognized rigging trainer, will teach the theatrical rigging courses.  Eric Rimes, ETCP certified electrician and ETCP recognized electrical trainer, will teach the electrical training sessions.

 

Other upcoming training events include a two-day course on Wholehog 3 console training for intermediate lighting programmers, which will be presented by Cat West Feb. 17 and 18 in Van Nuys, Calif., and an ESTA/USITT control protocols training workshop for basic to intermediate level entertainment electricians presented by Milton Davis on March 16 and 17 in Cincinnati.

 

ETCP Certified Technicians will receive renewal credits towards re-certification for attending these sessions.
