WINNIPEG, Canada — Marc Raymond, Epic Production Technologies chairman and CEO, announced that longtime associate Burton Tenenbein, pictured left, has been named vice president concert touring and that Matt Talent, right, has joined the company as senior account executive. Tenenbein has been in the business for nearly two decades, working his way up through the ranks at Westun, Q1 and now Epic. He has toured with and stage managed a number of major acts including TSO, designed and managed international corporate events and was described by Raymond as “a rising star with a level of technical expertise that is second to none.”
Tenenbein worked closely with the late Craig Redden and says he is committed to providing the level of service that Redden’s valued clients depended on. “He was a tremendous role model for anyone in this business and I was very fortunate to learn from him and work alongside him,” said Tenenbein, who is based in Epic’s head office in Canada.
In a separate announcement, Raymond said he was “thrilled” that Matt Talent had joined the company’s Los Angeles office as senior account executive.
“Our Los Angeles operation (formerly Ed & Ted’s) had a great reputation for corporate and special events work even though it was historically best known in the concert touring market,” Raymond said. “Matt will be instrumental in raising our profile in the event market where he will continue to deliver the outstanding service he is so well known for.”
Talent said he was excited to hear of the Ed & Ted’s/Q1 merger, having had great respect for both companies in all areas of the lighting business, and sees his move as a great opportunity to expand his own experience and career goals under the newly formed Epic umbrella.
Talent began his career in the early 1990s working in both corporate and concert lighting before joining T2K in 1993. There, he spent five years honing his skills in programming, set-up and designing shows with the first generation of moving lights.
With a particular interest in corporate and special events, Matt joined the Matthews Studio Group before moving on to an eight-year tenure at ELS where he became director of production rentals.
