International Stage Managers’ Day on October 10th is an annual event that began in the UK in 2013! Since this year’s International Stage Managers’ Day takes place on a Monday and many theaters are dark, SMs will have a whole day to celebrate. Be sure to show the SMs in your world some recognition and gratitude for all their hard work!
SMA Stage Management Day Submissions
This year, the SMA Newsletter and SMA International Cohort are collecting submissions from stage managers around the world centered around the theme of Resetting Better Now, Not Later. Since the pandemic put a pause in our work, there were many reflections and commitments made to have a better work/life balance when we returned to stage managing productions. Articles and sites such as “Hold, Please” and “No More 10 out 12s” are just a couple examples that have helped set the way to “Resetting Better” when we returned to work. Please take a moment to fill out the form below (you can submit more than one form). Not all sections need to be filled out. Submissions received will be featured in the October (and possibly November) issue of the SMA monthly newsletter AND will be posted to the SMA Instagram account on October 10th.
