NASHVILLE – American singer-songwriter Amos Lee has been on the road promoting his fifth studio album, Mountains of Sorrow, Rivers of Song, with a lighting package provided by Bandit Lites. The tour began September 21 in New York and wrapped its first leg November 30 in Knoxville, TN. Lighting designer Morgan Leek wanted to illuminate the folk artist by “creating a classic feeling show: clean, minimal and refined.”

“I felt that the more common LED fixtures on the market were not appropriate for the aesthetic we were shooting for,” explained Leek, “so I set out to find a US vendor that could supply some great fixtures that I had come across in Europe the previous year, but had not seen a lot of on the road. This led me to Bandit, and a rig that suited our needs perfectly! We ended up taking out 8 GLP Spot One and 16 GLP X4S. These fixtures were very versatile and great to look at. We were able to achieve our classic look using fantastic new technology, and I found that very rewarding. The rig held its own in beautiful large theaters and packed down into one row of a hitch trailer! I recall at one theater, the electrician was dumbfounded that our 24 lights that could be powered by 5 or 6 20amp circuits and made the house 120k par rig look puny in comparison.”

Leek describes his experience with Bandit as terrific, saying “I immediately knew that I was in the care of professionals whom I could trust.

The team at Bandit was very thorough in making sure all aspects of the tour were prepped for success, such as designing a compact lightweight cable package, meticulously labeling everything, and sending out the fixtures in great shape.  I appreciated being personally introduced to all of the members of the team working on this project; all bases are covered with Bandit!”
