WorldStage Has Ceased Operations

As many in our industry have heard rumors over the last 48 hours, PLSN can now report that WorldStage has ceased operations. We take as confirmation, Terry Jackson, WorldStage’s Vice President – Lighting’s social media post stating:

“Well… this happened. Over the last two years, WorldStage has done everything it could to enable it to continue as a viable business – but due to an unprecedented unstable industry, where we all faced increasingly improbable odds for success, WorldStage regretfully has decided to cease business operations, as of February 21, 2022.
I, personally, realize that this is not great news for many and may come as a shock to still more.
This is a very rare occasion in the entertainment industry, where a suitable partner could not be found, and we are now faced with the unenviable task of winding down the company.
Know that I appreciate the time, energy, and effort of every single person that has graced our doors over the years. More than most will ever know.”

WorldStage was a entertainment and event technology solutions company offering audio, video, lighting, LED, XR services. WorldStage was based in New York and Southern CA with additional offices in Nashville, TN, San Francisco, CA and San Carlos, CA. In 2007 Scharff Weisberg joined in a merger with Video Applications, operating jointly. They rebranded as WorldStage in 2011. They worked in broadcast, event, theater, fashion shows, and venue market segments of the live entertainment industry.

Everyone at PLSN sends our support to the many employees, team members, and freelancers affected by the closure of WorldStage.

PLSN has requested, but has not yet received an official statement from WorldStage.
