Update March 13, 2020: Prolight + Sound, which had been originally set for March 31-April 3 this year, was postponed to May 26-29 earlier this month (March 4). But in response to subsequent restrictions on gatherings of more than 1,000 people, and uncertainty about when those new restrictions might be lifted, the organizers of Prolight + Sound, Messe Frankfurt, found it necessary to cancel all plans for a 2020 PL+S trade fair outright. They announced on March 13 that the next Prolight + Sound trade fair in Frankfurt will take place April 13-16, 2021.
FRANKFURT, Germany — On March 4, after “intensive consultations,” Messe Frankfurt announced its decision to postpone Prolight + Sound. The trade fair, originally set for March 31-April 3, is now scheduled from May 26-29. Existing visitor tickets will also be valid in May 2020.
“The health of exhibitors, visitors, contractors and employees has top priority for Messe Frankfurt,” the organization noted on its website, also noting that those opting to cancel would be refunded for their ticket purchases. “All other expenditures that have already been incurred (such as for accommodations, travel etc.) must be borne by the visitor.”
Online ticketing for Prolight + Sound has been deactivated until further notice, Messe Frankfurt added, noting that ticket holders could request refunds via email at tickets@messefrankfurt.com.
