Pro Production Sessions Return to the 2022 NAMM Show

The Pro Production Sessions, presented by PLSN & FOH magazines, return to the 2022 NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA on Friday, June 3 and Saturday, June 4 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. PDT each day at the Anaheim Convention Center in Ballroom B on the third level. This year the Pro Production sessions will be in-depth discussions presented in double sessions on a specific topic each day. Attendees are welcome and encouraged to come to both sessions but are welcome to join for an individual session as well.

First session of Pro Production double Friday sessions on June 3, 2022 at 1:00pm – 1:50pm PDT is:
How to Navigate Virtual Venues: Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Marshmello, Foo Fighters Performed in the Metaverse – Is your band next?
A panel of experts lead by PRG’s John Davidson will be discussing the opportunities and production considerations as the music industry continues bringing more performances in to the Metaverse and on to gaming platforms. Musicians, creatives, designers, and production teams will all learn what to consider and how to work in this new avenue of performance in the virtual venue landscape. 

Then after a short break, the second Pro Production Friday session at 2:00pm – 2:50pm PDT will be:
From Fortnite to Roblux to Coachella – How to Navigate the Merge of the Virtual, Live and Metaverse.
The insightful discussion of performing in virtual venues continues with a deeper look at the how the Metaverse, gaming platforms, and extended reality environments are crossing over into live performances on stage and at festivals. The Friday, June 3, Pro Production double sessions are a must attend for musical artists, design creatives and production professionals looking to work within these emerging digital performance environments.

How Visual Design Can Take You From Not Just a Band but to a Brand as You Grow from Clubs to Stadiums.
John Featherstone and Chris Medvitz of lighting and visual design practice Lightswitch will lead a robust exploration of how band’s can use thoughtful and creative design to move your visual connection with your audience from simple beginnings to the biggest of venues. Even working in clubs or small venues, lighting and production design can be an incredibly effective way to differentiate your performance, but money needs to be spent wisely. As your band grows, this session will look at how do you keep true to vision, and maximize your impact. Using real world examples and concrete tools YOU can use wherever your next gig is.

How to Realize the Visual Design of a Growing Band’s Brand
Lightswitch’s John Featherstone and Chris Medvitz are joined by industry-leading production vendors, including Michael Strickland, Bandit Lites; Donny Lodico, Video West; and Eric Loader, Elation. All will have with the audience an open, vibrant ‘all the questions you were afraid to ask’ Q&A and discussion on using lighting and visual design to your advantage, how to not waste your money, and get maximum bang for your buck! The Saturday Pro Production double sessions address building a band’s brand by leveraging thoughtful production choices that can grow with the band from clubs through to stadiums. It is the ideal session for musical artists, design creatives and production professionals working at any level of their live entertainment career.
