MIAMI – For more than 25 years, PRG has provided lighting for one of the most watched entertainment events of the year – the Super Bowl Halftime show. This year, all eyes and 876 lighting fixtures were on Shakira and Jennifer Lopez during the Super Bowl LIV Pepsi Halftime show. PRG’s Chris Conti was the show’s lighting systems tech and lighting network designer who worked with lighting designer Bob Barnhardt of 22 Degrees to make one of the most technical shows a success.
More details from PRG (www.prg.com):
PRG also provided audio for the game’s international broadcast feed and was involved with nearly 40 other game-related activations including NFL Legends Lounge (lighting, audio and video), seven broadcast locations for Fox and NFL Network (lighting), the NFL Super Bowl Experience at the Miami Convention Center (rigging and onsite expertise) and Sirius XM and Pandora Event (lighting, audio and video).
“Six PRG North American hubs collaborated to deliver any and everything from traditional AV, video, rigging, lighting, audio, camera to Flypacks to various game events and broadcasts. The scope and scale of PRG’s activity in the month leading up to the game is mind blowing, but this is what we do best,” said Conti.
Conti mentions the vast array of lighting gear that PRG provided for the event including over 200 of PRG’s Icon EDGE fixtures. 140 Vari-Lites as well as 60 of the new Claypaky Xtylos fixtures found their way on the plot. Ayrton Perseo, Martin VDO Dotron, TMB Solaris Flares, and about 200 assorted GLP fixtures rounded out the count. PRG also provided three of their V676 consoles for control.
PixMob provided over 73,000 LED bracelets for the event as well. They were programmed on a separate grandMA console.
