BOREHAMWOOD, UK – Delivering a strong academic curriculum for 14-19 year olds, dove-tailed with specialist courses in creative arts and media production, EUTC is an industry recognized center for excellence in the arts.

More details from LFPS (www.lfps.co.uk):

Working closely with tutors at the school, LFPS recently welcomed three Key Stage 5 students from the BTEC Production Technology Course to their Borehamwood base.

Always keen to nurture new talent, LFPS are delighted to partner EUTC, assisting in the provision of work experience throughout key departments at the company. During their spell with the company, students Luca DeLauri, Drew Topping and Ellis Montgomery were given a hands on introduction to the busy LFPS lighting, audio, video and scenic construction departments, along with the chance to be part of the crew servicing ‘real world’ productions.

Speaking about the placement, Ellis Montgomery said “My time spent with Light Fantastic really has helped my studies as it has given me more experience in a real working environment along with a wider understanding of different equipment. It has helped provide me with the skills to enter the workplace with a higher level of knowledge”.

Drew Topping adds “Having a passion for set design and construction I had the most fun in the workshop getting hands-on experience and learning a few tricks from the carpenters that I will surely use. The experience has created opportunities for me as I now have a relationship with a high-end production company that is always eager to embrace new talent”.

Along with providing work experience opportunities, LFPS assist the school with equipment and support throughout the year. As part of the curriculum EUTC stages a wide range of student productions for which LFPS offers access to their entire range of professional equipment.

Commenting on the company support for EUTC, LFPS Managing Director Rob Myer says “working with this recent intake of students has been an absolute pleasure. Ellis, Drew and Luca were welcome guests. We were impressed by their positive approach throughout their time with us, so much so that we have since offered them paid employment alongside their studies. We are always happy to offer support to our industry and remain particularly keen to assist in introducing new talent to the workplace. It is particularly rewarding to be able to do this within our local community”.
