JRLX Illuminates Sum 41 Tour

CHICAGO – Iconic rock band Sum 41 embarked on their US and Canadian “Order In Decline Tour” with a JRLX touring lighting package onboard. Lighting Designer Nick Stabile of Helm Projects specified an impactful rig of Elation Professional Dartz 360s, ACL BAR 360s, CUEPIX WW2 Blinders, and GLP JDC1 Strobes.

More details from JRLX ( www.JRLXinc.com):

Nick Stabile Explains, “Sum 41 has moved past their pop-punk days. Their set is a lot of straightforward rock – quick and heavy songs with slow and beautiful moments peppered in. There is a lot of dynamism in the show, so I needed a lighting rig that was super punchy, yet able to accommodate the more theatrical points in the show.  The fixtures I selected are small, yet powerful and multifaceted. The CUEPIX WW2s have been my go-to for years now for stage blinders. The ACL BAR 360s can give me utter madness on stage for those crazy moments…and PIXELS! But it is the Dartz 360s that are really the workhorse fixtures for me. The options onboard the Dartz are a must for all of the looks and changes that this show requires and they are an incredibly reliable fixture.”

More on the Dartz, “Jason Reberski from JRLX told me just how much with these fixtures will do, but I didn’t really “get it” until I had my hands on them and was mixing the linear prism with the 8 facet circle, adding in gobos, and then STILL having them cut through anything else on stage and filling a large room with prismatic beams. I’m still blown away every day at load in with how small and jam-packed they are with features.” Says Stabile. Jason Reberski, CEO of JRLX notes, “The Elation Dartz 360 has been a great addition to our inventory – It has the intensity to directly compete with (and in some cases even outperform) traditional lamp-source beam fixtures, but with all of the benefits of color mixing, overlaying prisms, frost, and 360 rotation, and an LED source.”

Nick Continues, “The GLP JDC1s are INTENSE.  I use them as color-blinders, strobes, and pixel fixtures and really get a lot of looks out of them. Two are mounted under our grating-floor drum riser and look absolutely amazing for that “blast of light” look beneath our drummer!”

“We are thrilled to continue our work supporting Sum 41 and Nick on their touring journey together. The show that they have put together is incredibly powerful and we look forward to supporting them in the future!” Says Jason Reberski.

On his experience with JRLX, Stabile says, “My buddy Jeff Maker and others that have used JRLX many times, sing the highest of praises of them, and are very loyal to them on all of their touring projects. I had the exact same experience – JRLX has gone above and beyond on so many levels for me on the past two tours I have used them; they truly care and check up on me constantly – I haven’t been happier with a vendor! I literally sent the JRLX team my fixture list and a sketch of what I wanted and ended up with a beautifully prepped rig complete with custom-branded labelling!

The Sum 41 Order in decline tour continues through December 2019.
