PLSN is sad to report that Norah Eileen Beijer-de Bekker passed away on April 26, 2024, at the age of 49. Norah was a beloved member of the live entertainment industry. With a diverse background in sales, marketing, and business management, Norah had a creative and resourceful mind that ensured dynamic but practical design solutions throughout the life of a project. She led the development of the fixed installation division at XL Video in 2009 and began to grow the market for LED in the built environment. In 2012 she co-founded and served as the Director of Sales at IC Technologies, a fixed installation creative LED manufacturing company. She went on to co-found the design/engineering studio, 5TEN in 2018. Her open communication style and decades of experience in LED technology provided the stable foundation that is required to successfully execute a custom LED project. Norah was the engine that pushed 5TEN to constantly innovate and take a leading role in solving the most complex challenges of our industry.

Her family shared the following statement on her passing:
With profound sadness and yet celebrating a life vibrantly lived, we announce the sudden passing of Norah Eileen Beijer-de Bekker. Beloved spouse to Hans, cherished mother to Eden, devoted daughter to Mary Eileen Healy and the late Pim de Bekker, adored stepdaughter to Joke, and a dear sister to Helena, Onne-Berthil, Arnoud, and Suzanne.

Norah’s cheerful laughter and her boundless zest for life touched everyone she met. Her presence was a source of joy and comfort, and her smile—a beacon of warmth and kindness—will forever be etched in our memories. She was not only a family anchor, but a generous friend, an inspiring figure in her community, and a bright light in the lives of many. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate her remarkable journey and the indelible marks she left on our hearts. Norah’s legacy of love and vibrant spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, as will her words, “We’re all perfectly imperfect human beings.” As we reflect on her life, let us remember her wish for us to embrace our imperfections and celebrate the beauty within. Her light will never dim in the hearts of those she touched.

In honor of her memory  a service will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024 from 2:00pm – 4:00pm. For information about attending the service in celebration of Norah’s life you can follow the link below. You can attend in person (wear colorful clothing – no black) or stream the service.
