ATLANTA – MEPTIK, Atlanta-based experiential design agency, announced its partnership with Nashville production companies, Gear Seven and Creative Technology (CT) at Skyway Studios. In addition to the partnership, MEPTIK has claimed its first studio space outside of the company’s Atlanta home base, right in the heart of Nashville.

More details from Meptik (www.meptik.com):

The three-way partnership offers clients full service film and video production, with an emphasis on mixed reality components and equipment courtesy of CT. MEPTIK’s extended reality (XR) proficiency, paired with Gear Seven’s film expertise ensure an elevated final product, sure to exceed any client’s needs: virtual film production beyond the green screen.

XR is the present and future solution to better film production, as the traditional green screen process ultimately falls short. The benefits of XR for film are simple: combining live talent with a versatile, real-time, virtual background makes for a smoother production workflow. There are also additional benefits for film:

No green screen -With content on the LED wall, talent is no longer tied to imagining their surroundings but can see the virtual set around them. Getting “into character” becomes much easier.

Reflection control – Lighting and reflections from the virtual environment on the LED wall create true, realistic highlights on actors and objects in each scene.

No post-production compositing – With XR workflows, talent and the virtual world are both captured in-camera, in real time. This eliminates post-production compositing.
